What's Happening in Okotoks?

What's Happening in Okotoks?

The Town of Okotoks is passionate about community involvement. Immerse yourself in the dynamic culture and history by being part of the many events occurring in town this season.

Here are a few of our favourite activities:

If you are feeling artistic, check out the Pumpkin and Scarecrow Festival taking place every Saturday in October. The event runs from 10am-5pm at the Sunshine Adventure Park. It's a great opportunity to get your hands dirty painting pumpkins and trying out fun fall crafts.

Need a good laugh? Make your way over to the Rotary Preforming Centre and attend the Dewdney Players: Black Comedy & Act III. Black Comedy is about a young sculptor who borrows expensive furniture from a neighbour without permission in order to impress an art collector coming to view his work. As you can imagine, things turn into a disaster when the neighbour returns home with his mistress. Act III is about three recently retired ladies who are having trouble getting their husbands adjusted to the leisurely life of retirement. General admission is $20 and the shows play on October 23, 24 and 25 at 7:30pm.

Get into the Halloween mood by exploring the eerie history of Okotoks. Head out on one of the famous Okotoks Ghost Walks presented by the Okotoks Museum and Archives. Starting on Monday, October 27, the tours run every half hour beginning at 6pm and ending at 8:30pm.

Finally our very favourite, the Millarville Christmas Market runs next month from November 7-9. Bring your family and enjoy the fabulous art, crafts and food. You can really get into the Christmas groove by enjoying a free hay ride, put on by Horsepower Adventures. Admission is $10 for a carload.
