Auburn Bay – More than a lake community, soon to be a part of Calgary’s Southeast Urban development.

If you haven’t been to Auburn Bay lately, I would suggest you head down and check out what’s going on. I’m not referring just to the construction at ZEN in Auburn Bay, rather our neighbors to the south in SETON. Most people aren’t aware of exactly what is going on in the area with the exception of the South Health Campus. Seton is a 15 year 365 acre multi-faceted urban development from Brookfield Residential, one of the most comprehensive mixed use developments in North America. And if you’re one of the lucky folks to be living in Auburn Bay this will be right at your doorstep. Once completed, Seton will include more than two million square feet of office and retail space, a 16 acre park, public library, schools, multi-family residences, an active main street, South Health Campus as well as a regional recreation centre. All of this will be serviced by the future southeast LRT. Construction of Phase 1 of Seton’s regional retail space is currently underway. This phase is a 13 acre shopping centre located at the southwest corner of Seton BLVD and Seton Way/Auburn Bay Gate, and is expected to be completed by Fall 2013. Phase 1 is comprised of 12 buildings and will be the home of Save On Foods, Shoppers Drug mart, Bank of Montreal, TD Canada Trust, Petro Canada, Good Earth Coffeehouse, and Edo Japan…to name a few. This is just the tip of the iceberg. As more information comes available for this fantastic development, we’ll be sure to share. Stay tuned!
